The ultramarathoner and ambassador of our Kilpi Racing TEAM Stanislav Najvert would like to share with you his review of the Kilpi TIRANO-M running jacket.
KILPI TIRANO-M RUNNING JACKET TEST
I have tested a universal running companion - the Kilpi TIRANO-M jacket. If I had to average what clothes I keep wearing throughout the year most often, then this successful piece would certainly win. I actually use this jacket, which is primarily intended for running, in all my physical activities. Its minimalist concept allows me to fold it into the back small pocket and to go for a long run, bike, cross-country skiing or to use it as another backup layer in the winter months. Runners of my blood type can certainly use it a lot after running having a "double beer" outdoors.
TIRANO-M is totally light, you can rely on a solid wind resistance, water repellency and a very good breathability. The jacket fits like a glove and you don't feel cramped in it at all. At the back you will find several miniature vents, which you will especially appreciate when carrying a backpack.
Of course, there is a small back pocket into which the whole jacket can be packed. It can then be simply carried on your wrist folded with an elastic glove which is a part of it.
As it is customary with Kilpi products, the jacket is equipped with a lot of safety reflective elements. Fans and all data followers will be thrilled by the cut in the left sleeve designed for smart watches. But you will also find extended sleeves with thumb holes on it, which you will appreciate especially at low temperatures.
Personally, I wore the jacket for the first time having a long run - a bit over 30 km. At first it had been lightly raining, but then the sun came up shining brightly so I tied the jacket around my waist. I didn't actually know about it at all as for its light weight. Kilpi currently delights dye lovers as TIRANO is now being offered in a wider range of colors, allowing you not to blend in with the crowd.
In conclusion I would definitely see the price-performance ratio to be the greatest advantage, as I have a lot to compare with throughout my long career. In this respect, it presents a real revolution, as the other brands comparable products are up to 3 times more expensive.
