The used SIBERIUM 2.5L material is the optimal compromise between breathability and resistance to weathering. SIBERIUM 2.5L make use of the construction of a layer of fabric folded in the opposite direction with a waterproof microporous membrane (PU / TPU). This construction offers the water resistance of 20 000 mm/ m2/ 24h and the breathability of 30 000 g/ m2/ 24h. This brings an exceptional strength and durability along with high breathability and elasticity. It is also the optimal choice between simple coated materials and the three-layer membrane materials. It is easy to store and has a low weight of 258 g (size M). The jacket does not stick to you in windy or rainy weather thanks to the sufficient rigidity of the fabric an air layer is created that ensures ventilation and thermal comfort. You will really appreciate these features of the Kilpi HURRICANE-M jacket especially in an extreme weather.
It could be said that the Kilpi HURRICANE-M jacket is not overcombined in any way, it has a hood and two pockets. But it's not as easy as it seems at first sight. For example, the two mentioned pockets are actually tweaks with a double-sided zipper and they can also serve as a ventilation. The hood with the integrated rubber bend fits perfectly and it can also be pulled over the climbing helmet, which can come in handy for example on a ferrata or on ski alps. The jacket at the waist can be freely adjusted so as not to be cold on your back. The zipper of the jacket cannot be blown through at all as there is a double solid hem under it. Taped seams guarantee the jacket being waterproof with a good wind resistance. Another great feature associated with the zipper is the snap fastener on the chest. It serves when the zipper is unzipped so as the jacket is ventilated and at the same time not fluttering.
The Kilpi HURRICANE-M jacket has a very wide range of sports activities being used in. You can use it, for example, when running, hiking or ski mountaineering. Due to its compactness and parameters it is suitable for an extreme weather such as rain, wind or snow. It is also excellent for ensuring the thermal comfort during intensive sports activities alternating run-ups and run-downs or for ski mountaineering. It's the perfect choice so as not to get cold and sweat a lot.
Depending on the activity and its intensity I always choose different layers according to the weather. I prefer Kilpi MERIN-M or Kilpi JAGER-M as the bottom layer. When I take the Kilpi HURRICANE-M jacket for possible weather deterioration I combine it with the Kilpi BALANS-M jacket.
The weather will not ever surprise you with the Kilpi HURRICANE-M outdoor jacket. It is a compact and reliable windbreaker and a raincoat. You will definitely make use of this jacket in every season.
